I could give this company zero stars, I would. Copper State caused more stress, more mess, and more disruption than the original water damage. They sent Ben, who was not a trained technician but an inexperienced sales rep focused on upselling. When I asked questions about the amount of equipment being brought in, he responded condescendingly. I explained we previously dealt with a far worse flood (four inches of standing water for hours). This one was about half an inch that stopped within an hour. Instead of explaining anything, he told me this "must be worse or I'd understand how bad it is." I then overheard him talking about how much money he would personally make if we agreed to a pack-out. That told me exactly what his priorities were. Our insurance agent of 30+ years said they had never seen mitigation handled this way and asked whether I trusted their experience or a brand-new sales rep pushing services he profits from. I wish I had heard that sooner. We were pressured into a full pack-out that turned out to be completely unnecessary - people from the moving company admitted they see this level of pack out regularly requested by Copper State. Our belongings came back in unlabeled boxes dumped in the garage, and I was left to sort, unpack, reorganize, and try to restore order on my own. The amount of work they left behind was overwhelming. I've found many broken items as well as boxes full of stuffing paper and little else - probably (speaking as someone who worked from a moving company) because they are paid by space for the cargo and storage piece. The commitment to putting everything right was a joke. I questioned the two men making a delivery about this and they knew nothing about it. I also text messaged the manager who had organized our Pack up to begin with and let him know this, and that I was going to make sure the insurance company was not built for a white glove delivery. He completely ignored that text and responded to me about something else that had to be delivered the next day. CS also promised to send a contractor to handle the house repairs. No one ever came. I waited, like an idiot and, because of that, my father was left without access to his bedroom and bathroom for far too long -- an unacceptable outcome in a situation where we were supposed to be receiving help. By the time their office contacted us with a contractor (a month later) I'd interviewed 5 and already had one working on the repairs. Copper State did not show professionalism, empathy, or accountability.

We had a water leak in our wall which ruined the wood floor and a lot of dry wall. Copper State was recommended by the AC repair company. They took charge immediately with water damage mitigation and then demo and repair. They handled everything with the insurance company and advised me as we went along to ensure the insurance company covered the claim. Since we had to repair so much flooring we took the opportunity to remodel more of the house. This wasn’t covered by insurance but because they were already there it was way cheaper than if we just brought in a contractor. They finished on time just before we had to host 20 family members for Thanksgiving. Shout out to Kylie Boushey, our rep. She was amazing! There was a ton of coordination and she was really on top of things. And she made sure insurance paid every cent they were obligated to pay. It was a stressful situation but Copper State really made it very easy. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

I had a great experience with the mitigation crew at Copper State Builders! They were very quick and clean taping and papering everything off so they wouldn’t leave so much as a foot print in my house. When the sub contractor came out to finish the bathroom remodel and I was less than happy with my bathroom remodel the owner Clint called me personally and sent his best craftsman to finish the job. I appreciate them making sure the job was done right and owning the mistakes of their former GM.

Gene and Copper State help me out when no one else would. They were professional and courteous and did everything in a timely fashion they went above and beyond. My water heater broke and cause some damage to my garage and my laundry room. Christian and Bryant did a great job and again went above and beyond getting rid of all of the wet drywall and insulation and making sure everything was taken care of before they left. Gene came the next day reset my washing machine and dryer so that I could get on with my day. The project managers are helping me with my State Farm claim and everything is great five stars would highly recommend ask for gene personally

We hired Copperstate to handle a water damage claim on our home. Khalif, a representative for Copperstate, came out and explained the process and next steps, as well as how much we'd be paying out of pocket. He stated they (Copperstate) would pay a $1k credit to our deductible, and made it clear we would not pay more than $2,800 out of pocket for the remediation and repair in total. At the end of the job, we received a bill for $3,049 and no $1k credit. When I addressed this with the office and tried to escalate to management, it went nowhere. We had to pay the full amount or they would put a lien on our home, so there was really no recourse. We were lied to outright - there is no $1k credit and they cannot make any promises related to how much you'll pay out of pocket because they "have to at least break even" so you will end up paying whatever they tell you that you owe at the end of the project. They also outsourced the build back portion of the work (so half the job) to third party company that we had no say in and did not know would be outsourced. I would not recommend Copperstate, there are much better, more reputable and honest / transparent companies that make right on their promises. Khalif lied to us I guess, and the company wasn't prepared to follow through on the claims their representative made.

The plumbers I used brought this company is and my claim was not approved through home owners insurance. They left equipment at the home unattended for days. They did not check water levels daily and sent a bill. While equipment was at the home I had a hard time getting ahold of anyone, I called daily and had to call the main office to get a call back. Even the homeowner insurance could not get in contact with anyone. Would not recommend working with them at all.

Did not do the best job on my block wall and took bad short cuts and did not lower the price because of it, did not do a good job keeping me updated and left the job site a grand mess. Not a good team to work with. I hate to say this because I love giving great recommendations but not this time, not with this company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Monique and Robert are incompetent employees, and terrible managers. My entire experience has been entirely unacceptable. If I could give zero stars I would. This is the biggest excuse for a construction company that I have ever seen. I had a hall bathroom that needed a shower installed, and flooring put in. A job that could be completed over a long weekend if you wanted to. This bathroom renovation took FOUR MONTHS to complete. The ironic part: the bathroom was 75% completed by one man in one day, and the project manager did not even organize the worker to come himself. So frustrating that my family was lied to on multiple occasions so the company could drag their feet and make no progress on the renovation. There is just a total lack of management skills and organization here. The project manager, Robert, blamed my family's frustration with the lack of progress on us. He said that we were not communicating to his workers what needed to be done. He never even knew the status of the bathroom himself. In addition to this mess, I was told on multiple occasions that people would be coming to work on the bathroom and then nobody would show up. If someone did show up though they would come for 20 minutes, say they did not know what was going on and leave without having accomplished any work. My family decided to take over the role of project manager and contacted Copper States employee, Victor, ourselves. Victor was a great employee who came and completed the project in a timely manner. The workers are great, they just do not know what is going on because of the lack of management skills in the office. The best part yet, was that the master bathroom had to be done through this company as part of the insurance too. A few days ago the master bathroom was torn apart for the abatement of asbestos. All of its items left in shambles in my room as seen in the photo. I was told the company would be back the next day to install tile so that the project would be completed and the nightmare would be over. I talked to Robert who forwarded me to Monique, an employee in the office. Monique was EXTREMELY disrespectful and demeaning to me during the phone call. She was aggressive, raised her voice and I would even go as far as to say she cursed at me. Monique told me that she did not even know the abatement of asbestos had started, and that it should not have started. She told me the project could not be completed in the near future. Why did she not know the status of what her own workers were doing for the project in my home. Now I am left with a SECOND bathroom left unfinished. Why would Copper State start the abatement, and leave my home in shambles halfway done? They should have not started the project, or had a plan to complete it. This kind of costumer service is unacceptable and their business is ridiculous. These photos are the mess I am stuck to deal with indefinitely.

Copper State home Builders presented to our home on 7/21 after my water heater gave caused a leak in garage. Water damage was limited to the wooden/sheetrock water heater stand but a plumber suggested I make sure nothing seeped into my walls. Cactus was called my the plumber. I was provided recommendations to start an insurance claim and signing contract without receiving estimated cost of services. They left equipment to help dry out the water. Intention was for them to return the next day to start working. I then had a second opinion performed by another company who confirmed that water did not soak into my walls. This company came into my home for the consultation then emailed an estimated cost of services sheet and contract so I had both to review if I wanted to proceed. I called Copper at around 9am to 7/22 to inform them that we would not be proceeding and to pick up equipment. I am agreeable to pay for the cost of 3 fans and a dehumidifier that was at my home since 6pm on 7/21 until around 4 pm on 7/22. My total cost to demo the water stand, replace with a metal water stand (done ourselves), and replace drywall and paint (hired someone else) was $400. On early October I received a bill of about 2k from Copper State Home Builders. The equipment cost was only $300 with other charges detailing 2 hours of equipment set up fee, equipment decontamination fee, etc. They are charging an emergency visit fee of close to 300 and another approx 170 for thermal imaging even though, as illustrated on website, their consultation is free. Overall, I believe that Copper State Home Builders is creating overzealous charges due to us not wanting to proceed with their services. I believe that there is an ethical standard by contractors that was not upheld during our experience. I also encourage everyone to thoroughly read the contract before signing so you can see that it illustrates 18% interest charges, waiver of cancellation policy, etc.
