Pyramid Restoration of Los Angeles

If I could give zero stars I would. Unfortunately, we had a major leak in an upstairs bathroom at the end of June 2025. The plumbers contacted Pyramid Restoration to take care of the cleanup/mitigation. When you look on Google, their reviews are great. However, take a look on Yelp too. Our experience with them was far from pleasant. They will absolutely attempt to pack up your belongings and tell you that they will store them off site. Don’t let them do that. Every other mitigation company I’ve worked with has rented a POD. Luckily, we refused to have our belongings removed. In reading their Yelp Reviews, it was reported that they will hold onto property until their fraudulent bill is paid. People also complained of damaged property. Pyramid Restoration will charge you for equipment they did not use and services they did not render. They will tell you repeatedly not to discuss certain things with your insurance adjuster. They attempt to come off as helpful, but what they are really trying to do it scam you. They attempted to charge us for 2 months of storage (we stored nothing), 90 moving boxes of various sizes (they used 13), 4 workers (2 must have been invisible), and non-existent air movers and air scrubbers. However, that is not even the worst part. We met with a contractor for the rebuild, and he noticed that they still left debris and sewage around all the areas they supposedly cleaned. So, not only did Pyramid get paid in full, they were paid in a full for a job they did not do. We had to go through another cleaning, because what Pyramid should have done was a Category 3 clean, and they did not. Our garage still had moisture in the wood. Parts in our home still had moisture. When Pyramid came and removed everything that was supposed to be drying our home, they used their eyes to determine whether or not everything was dry. They measured levels once, set up some air movers, sprayed for mold and called it done. During this time, my husband and I became ill, no doubt due to the fact that there was black water debris still sitting in our home. It is now November 9th. Our home is finally going through the rebuilding stage. Pyramid’s business practices have kept us and our home in a state of chaos for longer than needed. Do yourself and your home a favor and stay far away from them.

September 9, I had a major water leak under my kitchen sink. After getting it repaired, my plumber recommended I call Pyramid restoration. He stated that Pyramid was a good water abatement company and also was good at working with insurance company claims. I called the company and Project Manager, Arman Hov. came out within 24 hrs of my call. He took a look at the damage and stated he could have a crew out within 2 days with fans to dry out the studs and remove any mold that was a result of the water damage. Arman came with a 2 man crew whose job it was to pack up my entire kitchen, which they did. They were then ready to remove the base cabinets and begin the drying process. At this point I became quite nervous. Several times I impressed upon Arman I had no money to renovate my kitchen and I didn’t want anything removed until I had heard from the insurance company. Arman assured me, based upon all of his experience, there would be no problem in getting coverage and so the base cabinets, countertops, backsplash, and sink was removed. Appliances were moved into other rooms and the wall cabinets were covered in plastic and the entire area was isolated with plastic, leaving me with no kitchen. 4 NOISY fans were left continuously running for 7 days. Two weeks go by before anyone came to pick up the fan equipment. I placed several calls to Arman wanting a progress report but he never returned my calls. I had a 3 week African vacation scheduled for October. During the last week of my vacation, an inspection of my kitchen from the insurance company took place with other family members in attendance. No word from Arman. The inspectors saw nothing but open studs and the outside wall of the kitchen. Before I got home from Africa, the insurance company denied my claim and closed the case 10/21/24. I returned home two days later, on the 23rd of October. Still no word from Arman. I did hear from my insurance company by way of a letter stating that the abatement company (Pyramid) was a covered claim and would be paid. Still no contact from Arman. I feel I should have had some communication from Pyramid about the progress, or lack there of, my claim and their subsequent payment by the insurance company. I also feel Pyramid should be held responsible for restoring my kitchen since it was on Arman’s assurances that the cabinets and all were removed. Arman’s lack of full disclosure with me only shows his knowledge of wrong doing and lack of spine to take responsibility.

I had a great experience with Pyramid Restoration, thanks to Kevin and his team. Their prompt response and expert handling of our water damage problem were impressive. Kevin’s clear communication and dedication to restoring our home were evident throughout the process. The quality of the restoration work was excellent, and we highly recommend Pyramid Restoration!

Last November, we contacted Pyramid Restoration to assess water damage in our condo. During the initial inspection, they told us there was significant moisture damage and urged us to act immediately—insisting that our insurance would cover the entire process and that they had “done this thousands of times.” They made it sound urgent and routine. We authorized the demolition based on their assurances. What followed was a nightmare. Pyramid gutted major portions of our upstairs—then essentially abandoned the site. They left our home in a half-finished, hazardous construction zone for over a month while they waited to be paid out by insurance. There was exposed insulation, debris, and even rat droppings. It was unlivable. To make matters worse, our insurance provider was never properly looped in. Pyramid didn’t coordinate with them at all, despite claiming this was a streamlined process. We spent weeks going back and forth between Pyramid and our insurance company just trying to figure out what was happening—while living in chaos. Eventually, we hired a completely different restoration company to finish the job. Pyramid took the insurance money and ghosted us. This whole experience was deeply traumatic, and I’ve been sitting on this review for almost a year because it was so stressful to relive. I do not recommend Pyramid Restoration. You deserve a company that will follow through—not one that leaves you with a demo site and PTSD.
