Our logs finally got the respect they deserve after Brad and his hard working crew removed a 5 year old improperly applied and discontinued stain from our home in Grand County. We now are comfortable that our logs are protected and a maintenance clear coat is all that will be needed going forward. With the short window that nature provides to get work done in the high country, we know the importance of contractors who stick to original estimates and schedules. Brad did all that. His crew boss Rose kept the tough work moving, while keeping the crew engaged, friendly and did a remarkable job of staging the work i.e. staining exposed walls during sunny parts of the day, reserving soffit work during the June showers. Brad fully explained the process, made sure we got what we expected and communicated throughout the project. We highly recommend Pencil Log.

They did an excellent job on refurbishing the exterior & interior of my log cabin. This included sandblasting the exterior logs & staining them, as well as re-chinking. Brad and his crew have done several projects on our two Utah mountain vacation rentals including a full log restoration, deck reinforcement, and ridge beam restoration. The workmanship is excellent and perhaps even more impressive is the attention to detail, friendly staff, and exquisite cleanliness. I have grown to expect a major cleanup after contractors leave. Looking for pros to repair any kind of damage to your log home or building? Look no further. These guys are the best! I sent photos to Brad and told him it would not make it through another winter and he promptly sent Austin and Chris to fix this 1920 building for us. They took this failing structure and in 2 days completely renovated it! It was fascinating to see them work. Brad and his crew did an amazing job sand blasting, re-staining, staining my deck and restoring some log ends that had water and sun damage. Going into the project, I wasn't sure how much damage there was going to be and to my surprise, my logs were healthy! We cut the log ends to make sure they stayed under the roof to prevent further water damage in the future, treated the ends with product to protect them and apoxy the ones that needed it. I love my new healthy looking cabin and would definitely recommend Brad to anyone else considering getting their cabin fixed up.

This staining job was amazingly easy on us. We were in residence the whole time. Rose, Justin, and Ivan were so professional and so very nice to have around. They took great care to prep the house, got every nook, cranny, and repair, and left the place cleaner than when they came. On top of that, it’s obvious that these three work well together, respect each other, and are well supported by their boss. They kept us appraised of every step of the job and found some areas in need of repair—after 30 plus years—that we missed. And again: these folks are NICE! A joy to have around. No complaints at all, and I recommend them without reservation.

After a fire in our woodshed we had badly scorched logs, burned out soffits and facia, burned out porch roof, and need for full roof replacement. Pencil sandblasted and resurfaced entire cabin and replaced damaged areas and roof. They consistently communicated with me, quickly scheduled and did the work, and the outcome was great.
