The team at ART restored an 1894 oil painting that was in my family since the 1950s. It cleaned beautifully and they helped me pick out a modern, but piece appropriate frame. I am so pleased! See before and after below.

Over the Moon! I have a painting that has been in my family for quite sometime and my grandparents left it to me. While wallpapering the living room I very carefully laid the painting down on the dining room table and moved the furniture in to proceed with the remodel. When it came time to move everything back there was a 14" tear in the canvas because my elderly cat had decided that the towel covering the painting would make a nice bed! Joe was so kind, knowledgeable and explained the entire restoration process. When I picked up the painting, I was fighting tears of joy. I couldn't find the tear, he had cleaned the original frame, preserved the old backing; the work exceeded all my expectations. Thank you Joe!

My mother was an artist and I really enjoy her paintings. I have one that she painted in 1967 or '68 (it is signed by not dated) that is my favorite. It is a fall landscape of a meadow on the ridge above Jesus Abbey in Taebaek, Gangwon Do, Korea. Off in the distance is Korea's East Sea and the city of Samcheok. I was a teenager when she painted it and loved to hike around those mountains. The painting had some water damage as well as flaking and cracking from age and was dirty. I took it to ART on Ledyard St., Hartford. Joe Uliase did the restoration work including cleaning and preserving. He did an excellent job. You cannot tell that it had been damaged. I really appreciate Cristine's Kern's folks. They are all professionals, very knowledgeable and inspire confidence. Both Joe and Cristine were very helpful in explaining what needed to be done and the hows of restoration work. I have a number of my mother's other paintings and am thinking that I may bring them in for cleaning, etc. at some point down the road. I can recommend them with full confidence. Ben Torrey

I recently had the pleasure of working with Joe & Christine. I had two drawings that my grandfather, a self taught artist and photographer, had done when he was between 25 and 30 years old - he was born in 1887. This made these drawings at least 100 years old. They had been framed at the time they were drawn and never removed from the original frame. I saw that they had some water damage and were starting to get very worn. I wanted to have them restored so that I could pass them on to my children, as my father had done to me. Although I love the fact that my grandfather had drawn them, one of the most important things about them was his signature at the bottom. I am happy to say that the restoration work done has made them even more special. I am so happy that my children were listening when I said that I would love to have them restored and my daughter was kind enough to give this to me as a Christmas present. I wish I could leave 100 stars instead of just 5 with this review. Joe & Christine were so helpful and professional and their work is exceptional. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. I had a vintage lithograph print that was my parents get broken and scratched. I was devastated. The team did everything possible to restore the piece. When I came to pick it up it brought tears to my eyes. It looks like it was never damaged! That, along with cleaning the frame, new glass, and resealing the whole piece and the price could not be beat. I could not be more happy. I will definitely be coming here for any art needs from this point on.

When a tornado slammed a huge tree into the middle of my stepmother's house, the damage was astounding. One upstairs room ended up wedged into the room below and a big part of another was simply sheared off. As you can imagine, there was structural and water damage. We were worried about a lot of things but concerned that the art in the house was especially vulnerable to ongoing damage from the humidity and dirty conditions. Art Recovery Technologies to the rescue! The team arrived and worked in less than pleasant conditions identifying, wrapping and taking away each piece, even very old family photographs. They sent us a comprehensive list of every item and what needed to be done to it. They did the work, and stored it all until the house was rebuilt. Even a WWII-era beaded purse that had belonged to a family memeber got the ART treatment and the minute bits of sheetrock and plaster dust that had been jammed into the beads were all removed. They paid an incredible amount of attention to detail. When we were ready, they returned it all, unwrapped it, and put it into the proper room. And the people were knowledgeable and very friendly. It's hard having strangers around in those circumstances but the ART team was fantastic. Thank you, ART! I will recommend you guys without hesitation.

Prism Specialties of Hartford Springfield Providence is the absolute best. Their art restoration team restored a dirty, damaged, and very sentimental print and frame that my mom bought in the 60’s. When I got it back I almost couldn’t believe it was the same picture. They did an outstanding job and it looked brand new when I got it back. The owners, and their team, are incredible to work with. I highly recommend Prism Specialities.
