They were referred by State farm and we are so sorry we got them. It took them 18 months, for a 6 month job, to do a poor job of restoration on our water damaged home. When our insurance agent came to see what was done he recommended they be removed from State farms list. 12 things were left undone when they said they were all done.

Edit: Since I originally made this review, the contractor and I have come to an agreement on payment for what work was completed and I have received a refund check. It does not change what happened, but at least we were able to negotiate a parting of the ways that I found fair and will let me seek someone of my choosing to do the work that Restoration Referee couldn't or wouldn't. So I am upping this to two stars for working with me to come to a solution, but leaving everything else here because this was my experience with them and I am not going to hide that things went like this. Anyone who comes along should be informed about it everything that happened to me as well as to the people who were happy with the work so they can make informed decisions. ------------ My original review, before a resolution was reached: My insurance company chose this company for repairs in my insurance claim for flood damage. They showed up, after several months, and did a small amount of demolition, not even close to all of it, and broke my three year old refrigerator so it had to be replaced. They never came back to complete demolition. They never had the electrician out to take a look at the electrical shorts that keep us from using our living room. The flood was mixed sewage and water, and the point was to get all the affected spots replaced before they could start growing mold and fungus that put our health at risk. We are still living in this. My second story smells like sewage and mold where they haven't bothered to take up the affected carpet and carpet padding. The flood happened in July 2021. The small amount of stuff that they did demo was in September of 2021. It is now November of 2022, and all I get is more promises that the electrician will be there and the demo will be finished with no progress at all. They have stopped responding to emails. The phone rings and rings without being answered. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. I will be looking into taking them to court to get what the insurance paid them back and find someone who will actually do the work they're hired to do. This isn't a contractor. It's a scam artist, and I feel like a big, national chain like my insurance company should have been more aware and careful in their selection, but that's a whole other review to make. If I could give them 0 stars and write this warning, I would. They do not deserve even 1 star,

Mark and his team were referred to us by Allstate. We had water damage on the ceiling and in the kitchen as a result of an overflow valve not connected in the bathtub upstairs. Mark responded quickly and his team repaired the damage professionally and courteously. They responded quickly and once the area was dry the drywall was repaired, the plumbing was repaired and his response to all of my calls was quick, pleasant and efficient. I would definitely recommend Restoration Referee.

Our sub pump failed during the last storm flooding our basement. The people from Restoration Referee were able to come, had removed the carpet and placed dehumidifiers and fans within less than 24 hours. Because of their prompt and efficient service we were able to limit the damage and had no mold. They were quick, friendly, and professional. I hope that I never have another disaster where I need to call them, but if I do, the people at Restoration Referee are the first people I will call. Thank you for all your help.

Mark and the team at The Restoration Referee were referred to us by our insurance company after a washing machine issue caused a small flood in our finished basement right before the holidays. Throughout the process, Mark and his team were on time and professional. Mark was quick to resolve issues along the way. The job was completed in a reasonable amount of time and looks great. We would recommend Mark and his team and would hire them again in the future!

Do not use this guy. I used them, only because he was a preferred contractor for my insurance company. My neighbors hired a uninsured person to cut down some trees on the property next to my house. Two of three trees fell and hit my garage, putting an hole in the wall and damaging the roof.after waiting for 6 most. They finally showed up to do the work. Instead of repairing the roof first. They did the siding first. When he finished it looked like a 2 year old did the work.i called the insurance company and sent them pictures of his work. They said I need to give him a chance to correct the issue's. He came back out a second time and it was worse than the first time. I contacted the insurance company. They contacted this company and had them get a building inspector come down and inspect his work. The inspector did a list of things that needed to be corrected he also stated in his report that the only way to fix this mess was to tear it all off and start over. I sent the report in to my insurance company and told them to keep him off of my property. I found a local contractor who came out with his crew of three and completed the job correctly in less than a day and was cheaper than this guy. Who is ripping off the insurance company. DO NOT USE THIS GUY!!!

Beware of this company. They will nickel and dime you and charge you for things they did not even do. We had some plumbing issues and they started the job, left a HUGE mess in our bathroom and said it would be 2 months before they could finish the job. They tried to charge us for cleaning debris when the debris was clearly left all over our bathroom. We were able to get a quote from a different company that charged significantly less and has better reviews. It was ridiculous how much Restoration Referee tried to upcharge us, very poor business practices from this company. I’m just glad we were able to find a more professional company to complete/fix the shotty work RR started

I had mold in my bedroom and contacted The Restoration Referee because they are a Westland Chamber of Commerce member. Mark came out to give me a quote and I was able to get on the schedule quick. They were extremely professional and completed the work in the amount of time they told me it would take to get done. Plus they repainted my bedroom in the color that I wanted, not white. I would highly recommend The Restoration Referee.

I tried to give him 0 stars, but the system would not let me!!! Mark was by far the most incompetent, unprofessional, untrustworthy "business man" I have ever encountered and or worked with. A project that started in May and was supposed to have been completed in 6 weeks, took well over six months. He would lie about what was really going on, he would ignore phone calls and come to find out he was not paying his workers or contractors for the work that they had preformed already and spent the money he was giving by the insurance company, so he was unable to pay the workers to complete the project. Jwas then forced to take my personal money to pay for the reminder of the work to be finished. I would never have him step foot in my house again, nor would I recommend that anyone else who might consider using him, to think again and find another company.

We had them come out to clean our basement after a water accident and replace the main house flooring. They were quick and responsive to our need. Will definitely use again for any additional home upgrade. or repair
