Edit: Sorry I don’t know how to reply to your comment- but yes, I am sure this was your company. I have had nightmares at the thought of going through this process again because of your company. The Owner Dave whom my husband delt with, at American Cleaning and restoration. I hired this company for restoration work at my shore house and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a contractor. He came recommended by an adjuster, but it turned into a nightmare. He ripped out very expensive cabinets that should never have been touched, and to this day I have no idea if they were kept or sold. Either way, he billed my insurance company an outrageous amount for them, an amount that didn’t even get approved leaving me out thousands of dollars and without the cabinets. The timing made it worse because only my wife was home when the demo happened, and she wasn’t told what they were doing. I honestly believe they took advantage of that. When I questioned the contractor later, he was arrogant, dismissive, and acted like it was no big deal. His workers were just as unprofessional, messy, careless, and completely lacking in respect for our home. What shocked me most is how this business continues to operate. I actually came back here while searching for a new restoration company after a recent flood from the hurricane, and I noticed my previous review had been removed. I’m sure this one will “disappear” too, but if not, please take this as a serious warning: don’t walk—RUN—away from this company. He comes off polished but is nothing more than an insurance scam artist, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I’ve since read other complaints and even saw that he has a habit of threatening unhappy customers with his lawyer which you can find on other public reviews. That tracks with my experience too. This contractor is a hothead, his company is a mess, and no insurance company—or homeowner—should ever have to deal with him. He is the tow truck driver of remediation: predatory, opportunistic, and absolutely not to be trusted.
